Mexico has ended the sanitary emergency related to the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

The Federal Government ended the SARS CoV-2 (COVID-19) emergency through the publication of the “Decree through which the extraordinary action in health matters to prevent, control and mitigate the disease caused by the virus SARS CoV-2 (COVID-19)” on May 9, 2023, in the Official Federal Gazette. Please note that a decree ordered the emergency on March 27, 2020.

As a result, all the guidelines published concerning said emergency are no longer in force.

Should we continue taking action to mitigate the virus?

Each company must consider the lessons learned from the health emergency and must analyze continuing with some of the security measures that companies have established, such as maintaining constant cleaning, using sanitizer, etc., and encouraging employees to reinforce the vaccine against COVID-19.

Should we send our employees home in case they catch COVID-19?

Like any other contagious disease, it is essential to take action to prevent the spread within the company. Employees sent home may continue to work remotely, depending on the particular situation of each case.
