Certified Companies have, among others, the following obligations:
- Companies Authorized as Economic Operators (“AEO”). To notify the General Administration of Foreign Trade Audit (or “AGACE”, its Spanish acronym) of the addition or revocation of transportation companies authorized to carry out the shipment of foreign trade goods in the month following the end of the semester. Thus, the notice corresponding to the second semester of 2022 must be filed in January 2023 and for the first semester of 2023 during July 2023.
- Companies that have Registration as “Certified” (AEO and VAT Certification). For those companies whose certification is for two or three years, the annual government fees (per the Federal Law of Government Fees) must be paid in the month of January and must file proof of payment to the AGACE no later than February 15.
Failure to submit the notices or proof of payment on time may trigger the cancellation procedure of the Registration in the Certification Scheme.
If you require support in filing the notice or filing the letter with the payment of government fees, you can contact our customs compliance associates Abril Guzmán at aguzman@tplegal.net or Alejandro Márquez at amarquez@tplegal.net to learn more about the service.
